every child has the gift of providing innocent insight as he discovers the world around him. i think it's a gift from God - so that parents don't go clinically insane with the stresses of raising a kid. after four years of being amazed -and at times perplexed- by my son Nile's journey through childhood, it's time to write it all down. although i tell myself it would be impossible to forget, i know some day i will cherish being able to read this. and i will still be shaking my head.

the tooth fairy
Cousin Dru lost a tooth over the weekend and Nile was most likely the cause (innocent til proven guilty, right?) Now he is obsessed with loosing teeth and the tooth fairy thing. "Mom, Google to tell me how many teeth I'm gonna lose."(He knew I wouldn't know the answer-it's 20).So now (nightly) we pretend he has lost a tooth and I'm the tooth fairy. I put a cell phone under his pillow last night, and it wasn't good enough. Hopefully this is a quick phase.
